Festivals provide an opportunity to remember Sri Krishna and His devotees and to increase one’s spiritual practice.

A number of festivals are observed through out the year such as Sri Krsna Janmastami, Radhastami, Balaram Purnima, Govardhan Puja, Diwali, Vamana Dvadasi (Onam), Sri Jagannath Ratha Yatra etc.

Special occasions like naming ceremonies, annaprashanam, birthdays, anniversaries etc are also celebrated at ISKCON Bahrain.

Various cultural programs like dramas, musicals and dances and Family Fun Days are organised every festival season!

Damodara Yatra

“If somebody lights a lamp in the temple of Lord Shri Hari even for a short time in the month of Kartik, then whatever sins he has accumulated for millions of kalpas (one kalpa equals 1000 yugas) are all destroyed.” - Padma Purana

During the holy Kartik Month in the Vaisnava calendar, also known as Damodara Month, Lord Krishna’s mercy is easily accesible and ISKCON Bahrain organises Damodara Yatra to share the mercy!

More than 30 teams of members embark on a house visit program carrying the message of love and devotion to Lord Damodara to over 1500 households every year.

The hosts and their invited guests get a chance to offer arati to Lord Damodara, hear narrations of Lord Krishna’s pastimes and from the Bhagavad-gita as well as bond with the devotee community.

They also receive transcendental gifts such as photos of Lord Krishna, spiritual books, prasadam etc
